Starting points for lessons


Depending on the lessons you're signed up for, you will need to go to one of our two different starting points:
  • SAINT LARY 1700 PLA D'ADET
  • SAINT LARY 2400 ESPIAUBE



SAINT LARY 1700 PLA D'ADET:
Our main ESF office is located at the foot of the slopes. Here you will have access to the following: 

  • Club Piou Piou (for children ages 3 - 5 years old)
  • Group lessons (for children and adults) 
  • Private ski and snowboard lessons 
  • Groups on holiday 

The meeting point for ESF lessons is located at the edge of the pistes, in front of the ESF office. The majority of your lessons will take place at Saint Lary 1700 (rolling walkways, school, Ludette slopes, Garlitz, Kid Park, Bouleaux lift…)

HOW TO GET TO SAINT LARY 1700 PLA D'ADET

FROM 1700 PLA D’ADET:
  • Depending on where you are staying, you can walk by foot to our offices or take one of our shuttles to the stop called École.
  • Once you get off the shuttle, there is about a 5-minute walk on the promenade.

FROM THE VILLAGE: 

Do you want to take the cable car? 
  • Recommended for beginners up to 1st Star. 10 minutes of ascent followed by a 5-minute walk. 
  • Keep in mind, that there could be some waiting to do at the lifts depending on the number of people. 

Do you want to take the Vignec Cable Car? 
  • 10 minutes of ascent followed by a 10-minute ride on the Adet chair lift and 5 minutes of skiing. 
  • Recommended only for experienced skiers.

Do you want to drive? 
  • Give yourself 25 minutes from Saint Lary Village.
  • You may need to put chains on your tires.
  • Parking lots may sometimes be packed.

SAINT LARY 2400 ESPIAUBE:
At the heart of the pistes, this is where our wide-open spaces are located.
Specially adapted to new winter sports. Here you will find:
  • Private ski and snowboard lessons 
  • Group ski and snowboard lessons for children and for children and adults during the holiday season.
  • Groups on holiday 

An ESF office is at your disposition for more information and advice and welcomes you at the foot of the cable car, the take-off point from the pistes. The meeting point for ESF lessons is located at the Portet Valley cable car. 

You will spend most of your time on the 1900 and 2400 pistes and take advantage of the natural beauty which is perfect for those who are just getting used to winter sports.

HOW TO GET TO SAINT LARY 2400 ESPIAUBE 

FROM THE VILLAGE

Do you want to drive? 
  • It takes about 20 mins to get to Saint Lary 2400 Epiaube

*You may need to put snow chains on your tires. 850 parking spots available*

Do you want to take the cable cars/lifts?
  • Take the "Téléphérique" or the "Télécabine de Vignec" that go up to Saint-Lary 1700 Pla d'Adet.
  • Once you get off the cable car at Saint-Lary 1700 Pla d'Adet, take the shuttle bus for about 10 mins.

*The shuttle picks up at the following stops: Téléphérique, Télécabine de Vignec or the restaurant Cabane*
  • Get off at the last shuttle bus stop called "Télécabine de Portet".

Once you get off the shuttle at the Télécabine de Portet you have two options:
  • Take the Portet cable car will then bring you to Saint Lary 2400 (12-minute ride)
  • Take the Bouleaux chair lift, followed by the Tortes chair lift. Once you get off the 2nd lift you will need 45 mins of sliding and gliding down the pistes to make it to Saint - Lary 2400. 

*This last option is for those who know the area very well and not at all recommended for beginners*

Additional information about the Télécabine du Portet:
  • This cable car goes both up and down and if for skiers and pedestrians alike. 
  • In the event that the cable car is down or malfunctioning (weather etc) get in contact with the nearest ESF office.
